The zodiac signs

Vedic Astrology is also known as Jyotisa, in the ancient language of the Great Sages sanskript, Jyotisa literally means ‘Light’. So Vedic Astrology is the Science of Light. When a time, place and date of birth is given and a chart cast this will show how the 'native' will manifest that ‘Light’ in this lifetime from when they took their very first breath.

A Vedic astrology chart will help you track your soul’s purpose and the Karma you have come into this life to play out. It is like a map of your life and is very accurate in predicting challenging and auspicious times, past, present and future. It is a wonderful and powerful tool to self-knowledge.

Note:

It is important to note right from the start that the central principle of Vedic Astrology is the primacy of inner knowing. Vedic Astrology is meant to help us to our own direct knowing, not to impose an external authority or belief upon us.

The purpose of Vedic Astrology is not to make us feel subject to external forces but to help us use our lives for greater Self-unfoldment. For this we must first understand ourselves.

Important notes on The Moon, in Vedic Astrology.

Our minds are made up of our conscious mind, which operates at approx 10% and our subconcious mind, which operates at approx 90%.

The Moon in Vedic astrology relates to our sub-consciousness.

It is important to take into account where the Moon was at the time of birth as the sign and house will reflect our state of mind and our nurtured environment, as well as if the moon was waxing or waning, directly relating to one of the 27 Nakshatras (lunar signs). The Nakshatras are ancient and hugely accurate in their representation of the mind.

Why do we take the moon into account of a Vedic Astrology reading?

The Sun represents the Father/Ego/Soul/Fire/Air/Masculine Principle.

The Moon represents the Mother/Mind/Emotions/Water/Earth/Feminine principle.

Life on earth could not exists and flourish until the Sun (Father) and Moon (Mother) were at the ‘right’ distance away from each other. It was an auspicious time and so it was when, we too were born and embodied these same essential elements of soul, mind, ego, consciousness and masculine and feminine principles.
